KFC South Africa has embraced the digital medium as a central part of their innovation strategy. In addition to the roll out of 40 INCH digital menu boards in 260 KFC venues thus far, ODM has recently produced the first self-service kiosk and outdoor drive-through unit for the Quick Service Restaurant market in South Africa.

9 x 40 INCH digital menu boards per store have replaced the static menu’s with eye catching menu content. The screens display day part-specific menu’s, thereby drawing attention to breakfast or lunch specials at relevant times of the day. Menu’s and pricing can be changed at the touch of a button, bringing new menu printing and distribution to an end, thereby reducing logistical costs and contributing to a greener environment.

SELF-SERVICE KIOSK

KFC Kiosk
The kiosk enables customers to avoid the queue to order and pay for their meal. The 32 INCH interactive touch screen allows customers to navigate through the menu and choose their meal by a touch. They can pay using a credit or debit card and collect their order at a dedicated collective point. By prompting customers to up-size and increase the size of their order through visual sales suggestions, the pilot has proven the unit’s power to substantially increase store revenue.
